The West Kauai Community Coalition and West Kauai Business & Professional Association teamed together to increase substance abuse prevention programs and awareness, focusing on West Kauai youth and families, building on the strength of ohana, while preserving culturally valued practices of our unique Hawaiian community.
Using funding from the Drug Free Community Support Program in collaboration with the County of Kauai and the State of Hawaii, the Coalition membership is made up of local residents, public services, and private non-government organizations.
Wholesome cultural pursuits & active community awareness is part of the many projects carried on throughout the communities of West Kauai.
Mission:
To reduce substance abuse among youth and strengthen rural community families living in the Waimea District of Kauai County.
